For giving more insight on RS and the Ninth Legion. I really took the information as supplied by RS in the aforementioned book as historically correct... And even if it is not, my love for this book will not be diminished. *S*

As to translations in general, I am so disappointed with what many of the German publishers do about them, at least when it comes to popular fiction. It all seems about quick money. I think what makes a good translator is not only the command of the foreign language but especially the command of their own language. And I see a tremendous lack there. Many translators stick too closely to the grammatic structure of the original language which makes the German version often sound really clumsy. I could go on and on about this, but since it does not really fit into a thread dedicated to Children's Literature I will be off my soapbox now. *S*
