. . . according to this article from the Christian Science Monitor. I was surprised to hear this, because it was my sense that the Libyan regime has finally woken up to the benefits to be gained from exploiting the tourism potential of these sites. But apparently they're still in the stage of tourist development where they're mostly seeing the dollar signs, and not understanding the responsibility to conserve and protect that comes with having custody of these places.
