Lovely to finally see the inclusion of Sri Lanka in the Oriental Neighbourhoods. I remember being told once that Sri Lanka could not be included in the hoods as it's "history wasn't ancient enough"... which I thought exceptionally strange as the island is mentioned in the ancient texts of the epics of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana.*S*

This is a remarkably beautiful island with a lengthy and fascinating history and I look forward to exploring it's cities and districts - I'm even tempted to create an Oriental persona just so I can purchase a property and move in... Something in honour of the Theravada school of Buddhism? A theater for Sri Lankan traditional open air dramas? A cricket pitch in honour of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team (one of my cats is named for the former captain - Sanath Jaiyasuriya). Perhaps a home that contains a tea, rubber, cinnamon or indigo plantation? The scope is infinite!
