Here's my old Baine bio, which told how she became part of the outlaw band. Now, two years later, she's still a complicated and dark character, the "ravenmay" who impulsively stole a baby prince, Fiachra of the Niafer. Over the Winter of Woes, she surprised everyone by eventually taking Fiachra for her own. At the opening of SOU, Baine's new maternal instincts combined with a nostalgia for her noble childhood home in Cill Dara inspire her to leave the outlaw band with Fiachra and the aspiring poet Amlaidh, and return to her brother's properous keep in Dun Dair in search of security, peace and happiness. Or so it would seem. With such a dark and complicated character, no one can be sure of her true motives, not even Baine herself.
