    This morning Italy woke up to face one of those tremendous tragedies that regularly strike this country and its millennial civilization.

    Earthquake in the province of Abruzzo , its capital L'Aquila , and the surrounding old villages.
    I don't know how to express what I feel right now when following the commentary on TV. Outside , a glorious spring day and all that misery there , not so far away...And it's not over, smaller quakes are still spreading panic.

    Here in Tuscany we felt nothing but even residents of Rome, which is rarely hit by seismic activity, were woken by the quake. Just heard that The Thermes of Caracalla have been damaged. Well, a minor problem..!
    Oh, povera Italia , there were already enough problems for you!
