Luckily to the Romans they read Greek as well! Josephus has always been a very interesting figure. It's again me, but I know of no other Jew "well-liked" by the emperor. (It took me some while to notice the fact about - our new Flamen Floralis - Josephia Flavius's name when I first met her yeeeeeaaaars ago.)

One more name question. I have been thinking about the name "Matteus," which is apparently both the (Latin) name of the writer of the first (not chronologically) gospel, as well as a "real" Roman name (for example the gardens by that name). What is the story? Can you tell me? :-)
