And I can't think of a better Flamen Florialis, Josephia! And I love the ideas. I was thinking that perhaps we limit the Florialia to just three days rather than letting it run from April 27th through May 1st so we don't conflict with anyone else and we don't burn ourselves out..........

So how's this for a schedule?

    April 28

Introduction to Floralia: Flamen and Pontifex posts a general introduction and formally starts the festivities. Perhaps start the scavenger hunt about 5ish EST. Of course, Toby's wonderful races would start then as well and run the whole time. What's a Roman festival without races? And besides, I think I've recovered enough from the last festival to bet again. Open the subthread for the bawdy jokes and poetry. And a thought here, maybe offer a small prize (a plaque maybe?...) for the best original verse?.....always bearing the Code in mind. And of course, Caesaria's wonderful graphics to decorate all of Rome in flowers......

    April 29

Latin Trivia (perhaps early in the day to accomodate as many as possible?) Maybe post all the questions on a topic and give folks the better part of the day to answer? And of course, a large banquet throughout the day, for which we'd need a menu....since its a spring festival, something with lots and lots of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables. That evening, as the banquet picks up a great deal of steam, we could announce the Scavenger Hunt and Latin trivia winners and then reward them with plaques.

    April 30

Start the day off with the race of ladies and men who are not free, but can be bought....perhaps noonish or so and let it run several hours to get as many participates as possible. Decorate with lots and lots of flowers. I love your idea of floral displays along the route. Maybe include a bit of posting about the types of flowers one could expect to see in Roman gardens. I know they've been doing a great deal of research in Pompeii as well as recreating gardens there based on their research.

    Then......that evening......(drumroll, please)

The Satire with such characters proposed as At Joriston, as in @Joriston as the He-Wolf and Aeraklia and Chainellia as the founders of Rome. But who's to say who will actually be portrayed? I suggest everyone mark their calendars for that one.

Wonderful ideas all and I think I've incorporated everyone's great ideas. Thanks to you, Jo, for taking up the reins as the Flamen and for your great ideas as well as to Proserpina, Max, the Vigiles, Senex and Caesaria.....and a very warm thank you to Heraklia!
