I regret I went to sleep during the showing of the first programme (I have it on video), but I managed to stay awake for the whole of the second. To us, it was the old, old stuff, presented now not as speculation, but as fact, without, it would seem, a shred of new evidence. Some of the latter posits, notably that the Romans were responsible for giving the Brits the disgraceful idea of Empire, caused gasps from the assembled company.
Or was I missing something?
