and now I'm going to have to go find some. I haven't had any all summer. My own tomato crop did worse this year than ever, due to the wildlife around here that seems to think I'm planting vegetables just for them. I have to keep reminding myself that I can grow food, and lots of it, if only the plants don't get eaten before they can produce.

But with the recent rains, the mushrooms are thriving, and there's nothing quite so good as simply sauteing them in butter with a little salt and pepper. I've got plenty. Have some!
