Xaire my friend Logicon, and thank you for the reply, as always was thoughtful and unquestionable!

It is true that instead of the known Stoic trinity, logic, ethics and physics, I used the words, except the lexis logos, epistemology and cosmology. The reason is that we can conclude that for the stoic view logic is a set, which include reason, rhetoric, linguistic, dialectic and grammar that according to the Stoics is called the science of the “properly dialoguing” (orthos dialegesthai). Ethics for the Stoics is the theoretical and practical experience of human life and of the being (ōn), an experience that can be pursued by the epistemological research. Physics is the rationalization of the Cosmos by the suggestion of theology visualization and examination.

The Stoic view of logic can be introduced as a continuation of the Aristotelian dialectical theory. Thus the main points of logic are calmly the similar to the Aristotelian, although, we have the addition of two more factor: the origin of knowledge and the criterion of the truth. Knowledge is record to the human mind through the senses and, thus, Stoics rejected metaphysics. As a continuation of that view is a need to introduce a clear distinguish between reality and imagination, which also must state a “criterion of truth” that must be based not to the final commitment but to the initial sense.
As my friend you mention, Stoics gave a huge importance to what we call lexis or word and to thought (skepsi). Accordingly three things can be linked to the linguistic function, the simainon, simainomenon and the uparxon. For example, we have two individuals discussing, one Greek and the other a “barbarian”. When the first articulate the word kūon “dog” (simainon) the other person will hear perfectly the voice, but the thing (uparxon) that the sound of the word present is unknown to him, although he known what dog is. So something exist in between the words itself and the real object that the word describe. That is the simainomenon, which at the early of 19th century Frege present it as the “meaning”.
Further, the Stoics divided Logic to the Dialectical (an interest for the human syllogism rules with an esoteric logical consequence), which, additionally, alienated to the Major Logic and Grammar, and the Rhetorical (an interest for the component and the exercise of the human speech).

The Stoic vision of physics is that nothing is without matter, “MHDE/N ASW/MATON” (nothing without substance). Everything is with matter, existing, eternal and perpetual, only its forms are changeable, irregular and unfixed. (OI APO QALEW KAI PUQAGOROU LEGW DE TOUS MECRI TWN STWIKWN KATABEBHKOTAS SUN HRAKLEITWi, TREPTHN KAI ALLOIWTHN KAI METABLHTHN KAI REUSTIN OLHN DI’ OLHS THN ULHN APEFHNANTO). The Stoics, the “Fired Breath” and “Logos”, introduced them as the common and whole substance of the World, Cosmos.

Finally, the Stoic idea of ethics is based on two major thoughts. The first is that a natural and unbroken justice rules the World and the second that the human being is with reason being.

    Yours,

    Nikolaos Cleomenes.
