Among the Italians archaeologists there are still some who don't agree with the notion of a medieval she wolf. Among these are 1) the present director of Musei Capitolini, Claudio Parisi Presicce who was also supervising the restoration work on the she wolf, 2) Anna Sommella Mura, director of Musei Capitolini from 1984 to 2007 and 3) Eugenio La Rocca ex superintendent of antiques in Rome.
Their position depends from the fact that the announcement was given without the publication of the results of all the Ca24 tests and that the spot were the piece of bronze was taken might not be pure.
