After more than 50 years of living & learning about people & the universe, and after more than 40 years of reading scriptures & many related books ad hoc, I decided to post a summary of Christianity's origins & early evolution.
Basic conclusions (subject to ad hoc revisions with new data): Christianity (1) started as a Jewish sect, (2) evolved into several sects before Jesus' crucifixion, (3) included at least one gentile and several Hellenized Jews before the crucifixion, (4) the apostles & all others each had somewhat different understandings & applications of things even during the Pentecost, (5) the sects evolved after the crucifixion, (6) persons unknowingly and/or knowingly changed (added, deleted, lost, altered) facts, (7) persons shared, preached, pushed, and/or forced the different versions of the truth (some more true than others), (8) well meaning or not, people contradicted one or more of the truths, ranging from soft & silent disagreements to hard & violent killings, (9) like all persons & groups throughout history worldwide, early Christians erred, (10) etc.
Nothing really new! Of course, many, many, many details spared for brevity.
#4 above is particularly interesting to me. When in the history of the world have any two people had the exact same complex thoughts & approaches on anything as complex as how to live one's life from A to Z?
If anyone is really wants to better understand these matters, they have to experience such things first hand. Gooood luck! It's vanity to chase the wind. More important to not swallow camels. It’s so complex & it’s so simple. Seek The Light. Wisdom first. Listen to the Small, Still Voice.
