I have to say I was left a bit empty, and not just because the vast library was empty of people... I admit that I watched them a bit hurriedly, but I will get back to them; I got them on DVR... but somehow it seemed to have too much stuff, that was not fully used finished as ideas, and the shadows seems a used idea, but can't remember now if it's been done in Dr. Who... well, shadows were mentioned in the second story of the first Doctor (The Edge of Destruction), which I just finished watching on DVD; and all that running seemed a bit futile, when you could have for once done it without it. Also, maybe it was intentional, but I didn't see any spark (not even acting-wise) between the archaeologist River Song, who still hinted repeatedly (too many times?) that she would become someone he would trust, and the Doctor... well maybe I'm just too fixated with the below (*W*).
Good ideas, all, but... as I said, I got them on DVR, and will watch them again sometime soon; maybe the second viewing opens the whole story up for me better?
Btw, I also watched the first ever episode, which was aired directly after the news about the shooting of JFK, in 1963. Still totally watchable, of course without special effects etc. But it's never really needed them; the new series just looks so cool when they finally can use all that stuff. ;)
