Only because when I started it in Novemeber 2007 I got really busy and put it down after the first chapter. I found it again
the day before yesterday and finished reading it in two evenings. It wasn't a bit boring and it was complcated and very dark and quite a bit more frightening than "Mythago Wood" and "Lavondyss" All three books in this series are losely tied together but you really don't have to read them in order..... as they stand alone as well. The wood which is the center of all three novels absorbed the dreams, the fears and the myths of humanity. Few who venture into the wood return. The wood soaked up the mythology of each era growing stronger and more sinister. It fractures lives and consumes several generations of families who cannot resist its call, into its dark center. This is well worth a read. Each novel is well written. Robert Holdstock is a fanscinating writer and his books are always steeped in mystery and very well done.
