Though she had greeted me and the others, she continues to simply stand there, looking at me, as if I were a ghost from the past, and so I fear I must be in a sense, for it has been such a long time since the last time I came to see her.

Though I did send an occasional messenger to let her know that we were all well, and had sent a messenger when both my husband and mother had died, for the most part, our life paths had split and we had both ended up on separate ways and somehow one does tend to get caught up and enmeshed in the myriad details of everyday life so that keep one so bound down that one can think of little else.

I hear Spacia sigh and look quite pale, "May I get a cup of water? I fear I am a bit thirsty. Mother would not let us stop at that fashionable eating place on the road here so that we might break our fast. Now, I feel a bit faint."

I chuckle, "Quite a nice act, Spacia; one would think that you had not eaten or drunk anything in a month. It has not even been that long since you had a drink of water. Don't be so melodramatic. You will give Louisa a bad impression of your manners."

I raised my eyebrow as I wink at Louisa, "I am sure that she is not about to expire from thirst; we did bring some water along with us for the trip, but she is still upset at me for not stopping at the eating place, for she says she saw the most gorgeous young man there. It wasn't the food or drink that she was interested in; it was the young man. However, a cup of cool water sounds quite nice to me as well, since she brought it up."
