    Being a Classicist by training and having actually been to Pompeii twice, I was extremely interested in this episode.

    I wasn't disappointed.

    Some points:

    Great sets, almost as good as those on HBO's ROME
    Amusing running gag about purposely speaking Latin and it being taken for Celtic by the native Pompeiians
    The eruption effects, very good--maybe the writers read the good parts of Pellegrino's book
