but I agree completely with Freyja. It seems that we are the center of attention ALL of the time these days. I take a quick drink of my mead and push my chair back from the table. I quickly throw a tip on the table and walk side by side with Freyja to the elevator.
When the doors to the elevator close I turn to her and speak.
"So, am I forgiven?" I ask her. "I mean I am willing to forget about that little stunt with Heimdall." I say.
"Who is performing stunts? I just got my necklace back." is all that Freyja says.
I know at this point, it is useless to argue so my eyes go back to the doors of the elevator. The elevator comes to a stop and the doors open to the penthouse. We walk side by side together into the room.
Immediately our moods change. It seems that we are two different people when we enter the penthouse. When we are outside, everything seems rigid and formal, as if we are following some preconcieved script expected of the all father and his consort. It is within the privacy of the penthouse that I feel most comfortable expressing myself.
"So, do I have to beg?" Is all I ask.
