Our ancient ancestors celebrated the coming of the spring around Lenting (March) 15-20. This was a time of celebration in honor of the coming of new life and new hopes for our us and our folk after the long dark winter. During this time, it was - and is for many modern Asatruar - very common to perform the blot rite in honor of Frigga, Freyja, and/or Nerthus. Pouring a libation of mead or ale on the earth is also a common practice in honor of the rebirth of nature.
Happy spring everyone!
