One thing I never tirelessly love to mention is that there are also crackpots dealing with 3d representations of Roman architecture, too. Now that 3D programs have become more accessible, I have been seeing a never ending catastrophe of television shows (historical and entertainment) with badly done models of ancient architecture. I've even been seeing sloppy scholarship in the field where people with serious education in Roman studies build a 3D version and just slaughter a building because of a whimsy interpretation and get some great funding in the academic sector.
I suspect that you will start seeing this more and more in the next couple years that can nearly equal the aliens and pyramids just because somebody has a nifty 3d program that makes a building look real (esthetically pleasing, though not correct). I'm confident you have seen this in your own studies. Any thoughts?
