I am late in joining but no less interested. I've actually been reading through the previous posts and found enough food for thought :-)
Anyway, I've ordered Bathing in Public in the Roman World from amazon.com but haven't received it yet, so please, Garrett Gaius, bear with me if I ask what you already answered in it.
I'm curious to know if different social classes used the same baths. Would Cicero or Caesar have regularly used public baths? Or at all?
In a letter to Terentia Cicero asks her to have the bath rooms ready for him and his friends in one of his country villas; would he have had bathrooms in his town house? I really have no idea whether the best republican Roman homes had room for baths.
Many thanks in advance for your answers, and thanks for being here with us.
