I know I am having a good St. Pats day.
TOnight, for dinner, I am going as traditional as I can without sparing any flavor. I am having grilled salmon with fried cabbage.
The grilled salmon is easy. First you slice the skin of the fish and cut it into steaks. Marinade the salmon steaks in a peppercorn sauce, you can either make your own or buy it. I bought mine and added my own cracked peppercorns.
Heat a skillet to med to med-hi. Once the oil is hot enough, throw the steaks on there. You are searing the salmon so you only want it on the heat for a little while or else it will stick. Turn a few times until done then put in the oven to keep warm while you fry the cabbage.
Depending on your taste, either wash out the skillet or use the same oil. Start frying bacon in the skillet, then add chopped cabbage and cook until soft. Everyone has different tastes. I like my cabbage crispy, but others like it soft. So cook however you like.
Serve it up and drink it down with a pint of Guinness.
*yum*
