Max and I were agreeing that we've heard sooooo many plans for Floralia (as part of the site-wide Springfest) but we needed a place to discuss it. Does this look like the right place?

Floralia, the sources I've read state, was the predecessor of all sorts of "May Day" festivals in Europe (and, now, America), including general celebrations of flowers, dancing, and the return of spring. It strikes me as a very happy, accessible, easy-going festival to celebrate. Senex Caecilius' excellent calendar and links note that Floralia was always celebrated for several days in late April. Senex Caecilius' wonderful April page states between April 28 - May 3; elsewhere I've read three days, between April 26-29? but who knows. Definitely May Day appears to be involved.

Here's a really detailed discussion of Floralia nuts and bolts!

So . . . in what part of Rome are we going to have the finale Party? Can we do it atop the Palatine??
