    It does seem strange to me that the romans would not have tried to build a fortifed camp and send out riders to seek a relief column. Surely after that first day's attacks they had to know how dangerous the situation was.

    Anyone else want to get in on this so Thiu and I don't seem to just doing a question answer session?

    I hopw someone else finds this interesting besides me.
