Honouring my Ancestors

I place the dish of banh troi before my ancestors' shrine, scatter flowers and light the incense. The sweet silver smoke rises as I fold my hands over my heart.

"Trees have roots; water has a source; when drinking from the spring, one must remember the source. In this year of the Rat, I invite my ancestors to join in eating Tet. I make these offerings and ask for their blessings and guidance."
