    It is often said that the Ancient Egyptians were obsessed with life after death. I´m not sure that is correct for when you look a their art and read their poetry there are other aspects of life extolled. But they did have rules for right living which have come down to us in the various "Books of the Afterlife" which were frequently spread in the New Kingdom. ...

    Mirjam's new article on Isis may have given us a clue to a puzzle that Dionysia and I had when writing our post on "Ani & Tutu in Paradise": What are the 3 flights of steps or mooring platforms in the bottom register of their papyrus picture? The only thing they were like seemed to be the hieroglyph for "throne." As co-guardian of Osiris and the spirits of the dead, it now makes more sense to us that the mooring platforms for the safe arrival of their Osiris boat into his kingdom should resemble the hieroglyph of Isis. What do others think? Are we on the right track?
