Recent research points towards that Nefertiti was left for a younger woman named Kija during the five last years of Akhenatons reign. After his death Nefertiti retook power and ruled for a while under the name Semekhkara. It is from this time battlescenes shows Nefertiti with a sword in her hand with which she strikes her enemies down.

There actually exist an official photograph of the Nefertiti bust in Berlin showing her (the bust´s) missing eye. Scientists believe that this bust was a model for larger public works during her time.

The name Nefertiti (Nefret) means the beautiful one. She was married to and possibly also cousin to pharao Akhenaton.

A remarkable woman indeed.
