    I have always been fascinated by Navajo sand paintings, and made a holiday card using some of them online at the link below.

    Of course, that's mildly blasphemous, as the sand paintings are religious in the extreme. They were originally used as healing paintings by the healers, but the art was beautiful and over the last half-century, the Diné have found a way to make them for non-religious purposes. Originally, the sand painting was done on the floor of a Hogan where a healing ceremony was being undertaken, and then brushed away.
