So remiss of me not to be up to date with the Vampire chronicles! And the mayfair witches, ya'll know how close to my heart they are. So I found the book Blood Canticle at the local book store (heavily discounted too, it's like a sign) and read in this past weekend. It wasn't as bad as I feared, it had some good points. My one real complaint is it felt like she used this book to tie up too many loose ends. While those loose ends needed to be tied up somewhere, doing it all in one book felt contrived. Maybe it's just me.
Also, it sincerely pissed me off that she wrote Mona so poorly. She was the most amazing witch in the line, the most talented, the most interesting, strongest personality, etc. Quite the prodigy (and a slutty prodigy at that) she could have done so much with this character. Especially as a vampire and that whole change of circumstance.
But alas. She turned her into a screeching, shallow, useless jackass i wanted to smack the entire time. Wth?
