After using my dog whistle, I’m coursing the shadows again. The moon is full casting her light and creating darker shadows where her light cannot penetrate. My senses are heightened and there’s a tingling pins and needles feel that runs the length of my spine. The veil is thinning again, but I’m not ready to go home. I have things to do here, unless I am called.

Groping hands come from their hidden spaces to grab me from my wild meanderings. Whispers to come away and hide, even a few more amorous offers fill my ears. I wander, but with no purpose. Wet mush is the new scent as a piercing scream causes me to duck and cover. I snap back from whatever mist was holding my mind. I’ve come up behind a couple of other men. No, just one man and a damned wizard! Taking in more of the scene, Baine and her man stand off to the side. Lasair doesn’t look completely with it at the moment. Sword bloodied almost to the hilt.

The wizard is overly concerned with the woman, who I guess now was not divining our battle, but maybe his woman? But who is watching the stalking apprentices of the dark druid? Can they not see them! The wizard stands rumbling the space we occupy. His staff glows. He warns the three he sees to be wary for their lives if they approach. The other man stands a bit transfixed, but an iron grip on his war hammer, it glows faintly with an enchantment. They must not be ‘friends’ of ours to be warning members of my party, but no harm is done yet.

“Is the war-band behind you,” mutters the wizard to his companion. I can hear it clear as day. They haven’t noticed me nor Morann’s apprentices.

    THUNK…THUNK…

Both the dagger wielding apprentices will die along with their dark master’s secrets. The man with the war hammer turns a bit my way with a triumphant feral smile, thinking those arrows came from his band to cut down the enemy. But it’s only me. I prey to my gods that my father’s blood will protect me from the worse of the energy bolt the wizard just sent my way!
