Tampos were built periodically along the Inca roads, approximately 3 km apart. Larger ones might be found typically a day away from the previous large one, and it is to one of these you have arrived. Do not confuse it with those even larger tampos which were meant to supply and refurbish large-scale military maneuvering.

My tampo is modest enough, and like everything, it exists in accordance to the wishes of the Sapa Inca. We are all His servants.

You may wonder why I've chosen a residence so far afield of my native North America, but I am a wayfarer at heart. To run a tampo means I meet other wayfarers, and share a gourd filled with chicha with them. Not all that different than the Blue Macaw!

And since the Sapa Inca owns all, my responsibilities stop short of having to refurbish the place!

Please, partake of the corn, and the sweet potatoes, and the llama and alpaca jerky we have to offer you.

This tampo is still being assembled. Please enjoy your stay none the less!
