Welcome to the Gulshan-i Raz, the Garden of Secrets. I am Mehdi the Persian, and these are my private quarters in the Palace District of Susa, where I spend my time relaxing when not at Court entertaining the Great King and his guests. I am a dancer and play the ربط ('barbat' to us Persians, 'oud' to the Arabs) - my other talents are not for idle speculation.

You are welcome to join me for refreshments in the Tiled Courtyard or walk in the Rose Garden. If you visit late, you may even hear nightingales singing in the sweet dusk of evening.
