Welcome, honored guest! I Bentreshy, servant and priestess of this temple at Iunet, offer my services to you as hostess and guide. The Sanatorium, on the grounds by the sacred lake, is a place of healing and reclusion. Built during the reign of the Greeks and Romans, it was also likely a refuge and destination for those that sought guidance through dreams. Though this kind of dream "incubation" in the way of the Greeks came late in Egypt's history, the early Egyptians had their own dream beliefs and practices. Dream descriptions allow us a uniquely personal look at the wishes, anxieties and spiritual perceptions of the past.
|
I can see it in your eyes... Let us be upfront, then. Whatever has brought you to this shrine, you have perhaps already heard the rumor: that in Egypt our magicians have spent centuries perfecting the art of dream interpretation. You'd better make your first stop HERE. |

Once you're settled and have chosen your bed, there are many things to do before nightfall. You can:
Head to the archives to read accounts of actual dreams seen by the Egyptians, discover what they thought certain dream images meant, learn spells to keep away nightmares and other ancient wisdom, |

Request a Consultation to have your own dreams interpreted, |

Introduce yourself to the Sanatorium staff, chat with other guests and leave offerings for Hwt-Hr at the Outer Court, |

Join our dream discussion group and share your personal theories, beliefs and experiences, |

See what inspires citizens of AW to dream of Egypt, and tell us what inspires you! |
