The Royal Villa of Agia Triada

Home of Louisa Agis

The royal villa (or small palace) is located a couple of kilometeres west of the palace of Phaistos. It is also the site of a cemetary which includes a couple of tholos tombs and funerary complexes from the Early Minoan period (3000-2300 B.C.) and chamber tombs from the Late Minoan period (14th century B.C.). Pictured below is the famous, painted sarcophagus found at the cemetary.
