Next day:
I have met some of the locals. There help could save me time. More than that; I have an urge to scratch their backs. How arrogant is that. Will wait and see. I hope to make friends. I'm excited.

Evening of next day:
It is so beautiful here. I walked around for hours. I started questioning myself. I dont want to disturb anything. Digging for pottery chards will be an intrusion. Another thought; the gods that live here might seek revenge. I can't sleep tonight, my first night here. My mind is running wild. I gave up sleep and lit a candle to write in this journal. My next entry should have a date, I think. I better get organized. Tomorrow.
