The Ghostly Coracle.
I am very proud of my Welsh Coracle, a small oval rowing-
boat, stretched canvas over wickerwork then tarred. My plan
to circum-navigate the globe in only a coracle has been
thwarted from its conception, through lack of sponsorship.
I do apologize for the contemporary stories here, but supernatural tales work best for me if they are surrounded by every day objects, but hopefully I will find away of using the Ancient World in contemporary tales, maybe time-travel! You might think that as Ghost Stories go, mine are quite tame, and I would not blame you, but I love the 'Old World Charm' of supernatural tales. I will say this in an unashamed manner, because its one of those quirky black and white films, filled with sentiment, that none of us watch. 'The Ghost and Mrs. Muir', with Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison, I was watching it on a lazy Saturday morning when the phone rang, I hit the remote button and answered the telephone, it was a sales-woman selling double-glazing, I politely said that I was not interested but she was in full-flow of her trained sales-pitch, so my attention was diverted to the silent screen, it was the part where Gene Tierney was in the garden, wearing an impractical white flowing robe in the breeze, Rex Harrison entered the frame, dressed in dark clothing, I remember thinking how clever the director was, for he had reversed the roles, Gene Tierney, the mortal, was now the ethereal spirit, and Rex, did not look like the spirit that he should be portraying, but a vexed mortal with a knitted brow.
