Dramatic tragedy had its earliest beginnings in Ancient Athens. It was theater to be performed before a public audience. The three great tragedians were the Athenians Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides. Reading, of these dramas is our primary means of access to ancient tragedy except for occasional modern productions, which help us to appreciate the genre theatricality, but for the most part it is quite a different theatrical experience from that offered by the ancient productions. Sit back and learn more about Greek theatre and watch some of the theatre productions enjoy some games, plenty of wine and other delights.
