Greetings! I have come here to visit relatives, but as a part of the Hungry Ghost Festival, it occurred to me that I may be able to offer food to my guests! (and although I offer it with a hospitable bow, you see that small jar near the door if you wish to contribute!)

Although Thai food has been influenced - and how could it not be? - by Chinese cuisine, it also has many special elements, tastes, and textures which make it a celebration both of simplicity and of sophistication. Simple ingredients - complex tastes! Therefore you see, off the front of my houseboat, my fishing line, and you can be sure that any fish we offer was caught just a little while before our guests arrived!

The Houseboat Menu

Pad Thai
Tom Yung Goong
Laab
Green Papaya Salad
Fruit, including durian*, jackfruit, papaya, grapes and melon.

*I should warn my guests. Durian fruit is sweet and delicious. But you would never believe that, if you saw it in its native condition!

If you wish to learn more about Thai cuisine, please check out the Menu of the Houseboat, below.

May you bring a healthy appetite, the gods' greatest blessing!
