Welcome to the Arid Lands, Plateaus, and Basins Hood here in the Americas region of AncientWorlds. The three regions of the Hood – the Ancient Pueblo Region, the Great Basin, and the Plateau Region stretch from modern day northern Mexico thru southern Canada. Here you will find some of the greatest examples of basket making, pottery, and architecture in all of North America. The ancient and modern cultures of these three regions are in many ways different; yet, in many ways they are the same and we will explore these cultures here in our various Regions and Boards. To begin with your journey, here is a chronology of the important pre-Columbian events found in our Hood.
