It's name means Built Three Times. Most of the buildings, of which archaeologists are uncertain of their original use, are built in the time when Uxmal dominated the area (600-900 AD).  photographed by ChanChan 2003 Uxmal is famous for the impressive pyramid of the magician. This pyramid is said to have been built by a soccerer in just one night, but in reality there have been at least five periods of building, from the 5th till the 9th century AD.
