Pi-Ramesse's District of
The Palace & Temples
Heri-tep a'a:
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT BY HORUS HENNUTAWY
The District of The Palace & Temples is currently under development and members are kindly requested that they refrain from adding discussion boards/threads, posting and acquiring properties until further notice. Your consideration is appreciated. Thank you very much! THE PALACE: Join us in the palace of the Rammessid Kings. First built by Seti I, and expanded by his successors, the palace was a marvelous entryway into New Kingdom grandeur. Live here, among the courtesans and wives of Pharaohs and other movers and shakers of a king's ear. Take employ as a scribe, or perhaps as a nobleman of power. Musicians, dancers, perfumers, stewards, and others help provide for a seamless existence. Ambassadors and wealthy merchants from far-off lands speak strange languages and conduct their deals within the corridors of power.
![]() Intrigue is never far away. Listen and be there as Ramesses II declares war and plans new stretches in monumental construction. Sneak behind back doors as women of the harem plot with some of the menfolk to kill Ramesses III. One of the richest eras in ancient Egyptian history was conducted from this seat of power. THE TEMPLES: While Pi'ramesse boasted many temples, the dominant was the Temple of Wadjet (alt. names: Wadjid, Wadjyt, Wadjit, Uto, Uatchet, Edjo), dedicated to that female deity often depicted as a striking cobra. ![]() Her weapons were heat, fire, and the cobra's venom. She was also a goddess of papyrus. Besides being depicted as a cobra, she might be presented as a woman-headed cobra, or a lion-headed woman. By the Late Period, she became associated with the ichneumon, a mongoose-like animal which killed snakes. Join us, if you wish, at the Temple of Wadjet, as a priestess or priest, or an acolyte, a server, a musician, a scribe, or simply as one of the fiercely devout. Or, perhaps you see this route as one with which to advance power. The processional and services begin soon.
