Ruins of homes found at Iran's Tang-e Bolaghi

LONDON, March 16 (IranMania) – The team of Iranian and Italian archaeologists which has been assigned the task of saving Achaemenid sites and artifacts at Tang-e Bolaghi has identified some architecture of houses of ordinary people in a newly discovered Achaemenid village in the region, the director of the team announced. “During our excavations of the village, we found a yard with three rooms around it, which is indicative of the style of architecture of ordinary people’s houses in the Achaemenid era,” Alireza Asgari added, according to MNA. more...

More than 200 ancient Sumerian treasures from the site of Ur in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq, see map) go on special display in the Dietrich Gallery at the Penn Museum from March 13 through May 28, 2005." more...

More than 200 ancient Sumerian treasures from the site of Ur in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq, see map) go on special display in the Dietrich Gallery at the Penn Museum from March 13 through May 28, 2005."
