Merlin the Mad making his intro
dateline: Jan 27, 2004 - 16:02
Hello, if anyone comes by: this is the latest (in fact onliest) news. Yng and Thiu, et al, have made me "Jarl" of Hugrunar....
I hope that given time, this Ancient Worlds Group will flourish again. by: MerlintheMad Knudsson
Congratulations Merlin
Congratulations Merlin on your promotion. Alas, I think your hopes about the Viking explorers (or Meso-American sacrificial victims) are somewhat optimistic. My understanding is that they fled back across the Atlantic, if they survived at all. Sometimes reality *isn't* as exciting as fiction. *sigh* ps Don't let the "powers" go to your head. ;-)
God dag.
Oy. Don't forget, I still hold some sway here as well. In fact, I'm about to start us a new thread. Heheheh. ~ Culann Brigantes
G'day to the worthy Culann...
Ah, the legendary Culann of the Brigantes reappears. I have to wonder what the subject matter is. Please don't keep me in suspense. While I hopefully have your attention: have you considered resurrecting your "Great Army" role playing board ? Just curious; not because I RPG ('cause I don't on the 'puter - the onliest kind of RPGing I ever do, or did, was with miniatures on the gaming table, surrounded by living, breathing, physical beings within the strike of my eye and sound of my voice), but I thought the board could be deleted if nobody is going to go there anymore. What I would really appreciate, is a thread on lingo terms, names, and whatnot, and their English meanings. I have gotten the impression that you know summat of this lore. What say you to that request, Culann ? ~ MerlintheMad Knudsson
Why, SOITANLY, Merl.
I'd be happy to, partner. Er...as sson as I get this other thread off the ground. Man, I'm back for a couple days, and everyone's, "Hey Culann, can you, hey Culann can you...?" I'm thinking of changing my name to "HeyCulanncanyou". And as for the "Great Army" thread, once again, I'll have to re-up the ante on that, if there are any interested participants? Hmmmmm? You're a table-topper, Merl? I thought *I* was the onliest geek in the Hug...
Table toppers are geeks....
No doubt about it. And I couldn't care less. I have been playing with "toy soldiers" of the medieval persuasion for as long as I can remember. Modern soldiers leave my gaming interests cold, altho I enjoy books and movies about ALL warfare periods. I have an entire army of Anglo-Saxons and Normans; enuf to refight Hastings with 10,000-plus men per side (which translates onto the tabletop to over 160 miniatures per side).
You can see pics of them HERE
