Your lips were like a red and ruby chalice/ warmer than the summer night,
The clouds were like an alabaster palace/ rising to a snowy height,
Each star it's own aurora borealis/ suddenly you held me tight,
I could see the midnight sun.
I can't explain the silver rain that found me/ or was that moonlit veil,
The music of the universe around me/ or was that a nightingale,
And then your arms miraculously found me suddenly the sky turned pail,
I could see the midnight sun.
Was there such a night? It's a thrill I still don't quite believe,
But after you were gone there was still some stardust on my sleeve.
The pain of it may dwindle to an ember/ and the stars forget to shine,
And we may see the meadow in December, Icy white and crystalline,
But oh my darling always I'll remember /when your lips were close to mine,
I could see the Midnight Sun.

This evening I learned of the death of a very fine spiritual teacher and mentor. She had a positive influence on all who knew her and will be greatly missed. This indeed is a time of transition.
Yesterday I went to the market about 8 AM. When I returned my beloved cat Topsey had died. She had been on her last legs for some time. Her sister died the first of May. They were about twenty years old. Now I have no more excuses. I must get the place cleaned up and cleaned out.
It is not going to be an easy transition, because this has been home for over thirty years. Now that my girls are gone there is nothing to keep me here.
The girls had been with me since 1996. They were twins and belonged to the sons of my cousin. The boys became allergic to them, so I took them in. They were the best cats. Very loving twin sisters. They gave me a lot of strength. Those eleven years went by very fast.
Many more changes must be made in an uncertain future. I can only take it a day at a time and try to make the best of it.
My neighbor wants to buy my house and property. This would be a good thing, because there is so much that needs to be done here to maintain it, and it is all to much for me.
Now that the girls are gone, I no longer have an excuse.
For me a new phase of existence is about to begin.
