Another little step

Today I got into the Welcoming Committee... another step into a deeper involvement in this wonderful place called AW.
I can't stay a day without logging in and when i talk about it to my friends, most of them seem interested, but then there's a look in their saying "is she going nuts? But still... it seems interesting".
But I love AW and I love Rome... so... where else could I be if not here? Here I met wonderful people, you can chta, you can exchange your views and you can give your own interpretations in a space that is open to newcomers and not closed to new "adepts".
It's enriching, it's fun and most of all it feels a lot like home. A home which extends across oceans and continents, but it is home! |

A major step in AW

Today I was nominated... er... I mean elected Praetor if my favourite group Aedes Divi Iulii: Julius Caesar and His Times.
I was so ecxited and happy I couldn't keep it to myself and strated saying it around to my friends and the reaction I got was more or less the same Herky gets from her friends... - I'll make myself clearier when I can find her message!
I'll finish up here for now, because I want to be better able to espress what I felt and at 3a.m. it's quite hard!
To be continued....
All the best to you all,

A new step in AW

Today I won my very first price in AW!
I participated to Hellas Golden Hunt and... I got a second place.
I never thought I'd be in such a good position and when I saw I got the award I was so happy! Like a baby!
And then I realized that I'm becoming addicted to this community.
I first entered it because I'm interested in the life of Julius Caesar. I'm doing a little of research on him, just for passion, and when I discovered that here there's a group focussed on him I thought: "Ok, that's the place to be".
Day after day I've discovered a Roman "world", where people with different cultural and educational background can discuss their theses without worrying of not being a pro in the field.
On the contrary.
Here professionals and almost-professionals welcome each point of view and at most, they point you out that there might be other keys to the same issue. They give you the tools to go and check for yourself the ancient sources, they might advise to read an author or to look at a site where the issue is dealt with.
It's intellectually stimulating, it's enriching, but most of all... it's fun!
And then... the Goldfest arrived and I thought: "Oh well, it's a few months I'm here... let's try it!". And I discovered another aspect of AW: you can have fun, learn and even get a prize all at once!
This time I participated only to events in two worlds, the ones I know better: Rome and Hellas.
But next time around I'll tour all around AW.
Now I know that I can learn so much just by playing here. And play can give me hints to topics I might wish to get to know better. And I can find people who want to share their knowledge.
So... thanks to you all, citizens of Ancient Worlds!
