I am pleased to report that the abacus Senex sent me all the way from Rome arrived intact, and it is quite attractive...and timely. My old abacus, which I have had since I was a child, is cracked and needs replacing.

More treasures from Vietnam and Mongolia!
A special souvenir from a memorable storytelling:
All the tales were wonderful, and I was thrilled to see Senex's Higgledy Piggledy poem on the Yakwangi shoe-stealing ghost.
YOR and Shaman souvenirs by Xena Apilsin
Tet souvenir by Vortigern Aedui
I scored 70% on Fey's Manly Games quiz and received a lovely souvenir plaques. I love the archer & horse on parchment - very traditional Mongolian composition.
Our Lunar New Year celebrations got off to a great start last evening with a fun opening night and ratz, ratz, everywhere ratz. Several people have created the cutest little rat graphics you ever did see.
I don't think I've seen a haughtier looking lady rat than Mac's Rat Punzel. I pity the poor knight who climbs up HER hair to rescue her. She's my kinda adorabe!
Sank's rat's are so cute and funny, they make me happy just looking at their antics:
Lara's cute little rat is sooo cute, I had loads of fun to changing his (her?) colours for the Ratitude quiz. Now that the rats are out of the bag, I can post them here:
Note: The backgrounds I used for the Water Rat, Metal Rat and Earth Rat are cropped from early Chinese and Japanese paintings, the background for the Fire Rat is a traditional Japanese peony cloth pattern, and the background for the Wood Rat is a traditional Good Luck calendar illustration.
The ratty ecards are great too.
Lara's card:
Feiyan's card:
Xena created several gorgeous ecards for the Year of the Rat and for Lunar New Year:
And my personal favourite of Xena's ecards:
Can you tell I like black? LOL
Topi made us a Year of the Rat Scribe plaque with a really cute little rat peeking out of the scrolls, which I am proudly displaying on my entrance.
TaysatWesir left this lovely Flash card on my scroll:

Thanks Taysat!
I logged in today and found this lovely traditional Vietnamese cau doi couplet written by talented Roman poet Senex Caecilius:
Out with wintry, doleful dreariness;
In with vernal, chirpy cheeriness!
A lovely way to start the day. Thanks Senex!

The Stone Story is a most enjoyable AW tale. The storytelling and graphics are delightful.
Just took the puppet quiz and scored 100%. Anything less would've been embarrassing after all that research. LOL
Meso's Astrology Exhibition rocks!
(I just LOVE black plaques! *S*)
Meso's Choose Your Own Adventure is an AW must! Wow!
Germanai's hood tour is thoroughly enjoyable and the presentation and graphics are adorable:
The quiz on the Vandals was tough but I learned a lot.
