Switching Personas
|
Posted at 22:00 EST
|
I click the Switch Personas "button" when it's a bit over midnight AW as a shortcut to logging off then logging in to increase my bankroll. And then I hit the browser's back button get to my list of personas to login with each.
Only that of late, it says I can't because I haven't logged in to begin with. And not all the time: it seems to randomly do this.
Doesn't matter which browser: Safari, IE7, & Firefox on both PC and Mac have this problem.
Another thing: Dear Microsoft... Why can't IE7 recall more than one password per site? Previous editions could and... um, er... wait a minute. Guess you're right: multiple personas per single workstation would leave AW open to mischief. Best I not have this frivolous unsafe feature, Sorry to have wasted your time. Toodles! |

Double-Avatar Welcome (Updated)
|

I'm impressed! Jot sure knows how to encourage fascination at AW. While logging in, I got this:

Informing Topilitzin Tupac of this, he managed to re-login to more excitement (notice the text):

There's a trick to this though I'm not gonna reveal it just yet.
UPDATE!! (5 Nov 2006): Click the log-in button multiple times to achieve a multiple avatar. |

Refreshing Name Change
|
Posted at 01:30 EST
|
Instead of logging out, I went offline noonish and returned four hours later, refreshing my domus Entrance page and... instead of a Login button, I was greeted with the news that I was online as Shibori Muraska. Sent a gram to Shanti Ashoka, who happened to be talking with her at the time; what's really weird is neither I or Shibori have the gram I sent Shanti. Hopefully, we can figure out what happened so that it doesn't happen again. Update #1: Discovered it's a New Moon tonight; this, AW has no control over. Alas. *G* |

To Join & Not Appear, That is the Question
|
Posted at 21:15 EST
|
As I write this, my name doesn't appear on the list of members for Mediaphiles, which I joined about six hours ago, even though the group shows in my Domus list.
UPDATE: Following a suggestion that came through channels from Cornellia Cornelius, I brought up my group list in my Domus, as the Resign button didn't show on the Mediaphiles page. Resigning, I waited a few hours and then re-upped when I learned from IC Antonius that "...Somehow the group became closed, I don't know why." He "opened" it, and I now list fine. |

Safari, Firefox, Tiger & Chat
|
Posted at 16:00 EST

Those using Apple's Safari under MacOS X Tiger may not be able to see an automatic refresh when using non-Flash chat.
Senex Caecilius has an earlier version of MacOS X/Safari which doesn't have chat problems. To get around this, download Firefox from Apple's site. If you're having problems of this sort, please drop me a note. |
