Wow! What a krazy weekend. I've been told by civies from Egypt, Meso and even as far as the Orient that the celebration was a big hit.
One of the great things about festivals at AW is meeting knew people. I am happy to report I have a brand new set of friends.
I want to acknowledge Zama Roca who generously loaned us her star belly dancers for the banquet. Tantala and Sahrinee stole the show!
Oh, by the way, the Drinking game has been extended for another week. There is just so much quaffing one can do and still keep a job. |

Happy Anniversary, I, Claudius!
Thirty years ago, BBC aired the first episode of I, Claudius on their highly regarded Masterpiece Theater. The 13-part mini-series adapted for TV by Jack Pulman and hosted by Alistair Cooke proved to be one of the most successful drama serials of all time.
It starred Derek Jacobi as Claudius, Siān Phillips as Livia, George Baker as Tiberius, John Hurt as Caligula and Brian Blessed as a benign Caesar Augustus. The cast also included Patrick Stewart deliciously wicked as Sejanus.
At AW our I, Claudius group is planning to celebrate the anniversary in proper Julio-Claudian style. It should be fun as we party like it's AD 41. We may be getting in over our heads with our ambitious plans for sitewide games, quizzes and mad gaiety.
Someone stop me!
