I'll be offline Thursday and Friday, participating in America's established religion of materialism and gluttony and overextended Winter-Holiday season in the name of commercialism. Actually, I will in fact be giving thanks for the many many material goods that Americans have too much of and tend to value as ends in themselves. And I'll see family I see way too little of even though they live pretty close.
Weather permitting (I love white Thanksgivings! And we hardly ever get them in the DC area), we'll also probably go to Mass. The word "Eucharist" is essentially the Greek word for Thanksgiving. Sometimes people are so selfless in helping you that you don't even realize all the things you owe them. God definitely belongs in this category. And I'm really bad and thanking people for things, so I guess the holiday (not to mention Mass) is good for me.
Happy Thanksgivng to all American AWers.

I will be in the Holy Land June 21 to July 2, and if I get a chance to go online, it will be to email notes and pics back home, so I'll be "away" from AW for a couple of weeks.
All members of AW will be with me in spirit while I am there.
