Ok, so I've gone a little overboard with this egging people's houses. I've never done IRL, because well, in childhood my Mother would have KILLED me and I wasn't that precocious. Now, I probably would kill my own children if they did it to someone's house. But virtually, it's another story. hehehehehehe.

Think of it as my way of sharing the love *chuckle* - and if it makes someone laugh today, then my job here is done ;)

I do have to admit that Bacchus and his Charmin TP job on my house cracked me up to no end. And then there was AER and her fartbomb. I need more of those kinds of laughs these days. Those deep in the belly rumbly laughs. They do wonders for your soul.

From Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween

In Scotland, children or guisers are likely to recite "The sky is blue, the grass is green, may we have our Halloween" instead of "trick or treat!", they will then have to impress the members of the houses they visit with a song, trick, joke or dance in order to earn their treats.

Tricks play less of a role in modern Halloween, though the night before Halloween is often marked by pranks such as soaping windows, egging houses or stringing toilet paper through trees. Before indoor plumbing was so widespread, tipping over or displacing outhouses was a popular form of trick.

Those evil urchins! Can you imagine having to clean up an outhouse spill???

For the first time in 25 years, Tutankhamen has been removed from his sarcophagus and sent for CT examination. Tackling the question of his death as well as reconstructing the face of the elusive boy-king, Egyptian scientists work on the new CT scan findings for new answers. Entitled "King Tut's Final Secrets" this is certain to be a must-see for any fan of Ancient Egypt. Check out National Geographic for more information:

Spring has Sprung and We are Wrung...OUT that is!

SpringFest has come and gone in Egypt with mixed feelings. Amidst a flurry of activities, we are literally exhausted from running from world to world enjoying the most excellent activites and events to date! Egypt's celebration highlighted the Grand Egyptian Festival the Beautiful Feast of the Valley celebrated each year at the beginning of the innundation season. In the Procession of Amun, we recreated (sort of!) the parade following the Priests of Amun while they carried the Great Hidden One through the streets of the grand city of Waset and across the Nile in order to commune with the spirits of the gods. Free flowing beer was supplied by the Drunken Hathor Oracle Booth and several contests were held.

Best of Fest -
Winning second place on the Best of Fest Social Activities category, the Amun's Puzzle Scavenger Hunt kept celebrants hopping, scouring through homes and places in Egypt, looking for those elusive puzzle pieces. My hat goes of to Clodia Cicero and Leela Antonius who found the most puzzle pieces and are now in need of a new pair of reading glasses. Well done ladies!!

Other events included Do it Yourself Pottery, with many thanks to Sesh Ked Hatshepsut for rendering our lovely designs into gorgeous pottery souvenirs (See the Springfest plate above as some of his wonderful work!). Name that Room was another event for contestants to guess the name of each room in a common Egyptian home. Winners with four right guesses each were Feline Thutmose and Caileadair Etana. Another job well done!!

Best of Homes Awarded!! At the end of SpringFest, Best Homes was awarded to competitors who threw their hats in the ring to be judged by a venerable panel of judges. Winners for Egypt were:

GOLD - Queen Tiy Amenhotep

SILVER - Nefertare Mentuhotep

BRONZE - nilaja Amenhotep

A hearty congratulations ladies!!

With all major celebrations, there are always people in the wings who helped, but rarely get the kudos they properly deserve. The Order of the Golden Fly was given to those who showed bravery in the face of battle or opposition. To those of you who came through to help Egypt this Spring, I am eternally grateful for your support and friendship and include you in this prestigous group for you have served Egypt well.
