In the (new) beginning, there was the AmenJot. From a gaping black and golden hole, in a primordial abyss that was once called Ancient Sites, the AmenJot created Ancient Worlds.

And he saw the coding, and thought it kinda good...

So AmenJot created the first group in Ancient Worlds. He placed it in Egypt. It was called KMT.

And he saw the coding, and thought it kinda good too...

After a while, he gave his chosen people the fruits to birth their own groups. Soon, a multitude of groups was borne. Some of the very first were constructed in celebration of the Ancient Worlds' Exodus from Beta to Gold. And the AmenJot saw the coding, and thought it pretty darned good...

...and the rest is Ancient history in the making.

What follows is a sampling of the work I did for the Egyptian celebration, which lasted three days, but took weeks to plan, render, code and build.

Graphics and Coding for AkhetAten, Horizon of the Sun-Disk Posted at 09:00 EST
Passport II - Egypt
AkhetAten Passport

AkhetAten, Mooring II, was geared toward the Amarna Interlude in Egypt's long, mysterious history. Amarna remains a cult favorite, for therin dwelt the stunning Queen Nefertiti, heretic King Akhenaten and their troubled, displaced, odd but beautiful ancient family.

This is the coding and imagry for the main mooring board. More can be found by following links at this url: http://www.ancientworlds.net/aw/Group/36371

As it has been some time since Egypt's Gold Launch, I now offer Mooring II's graphics and coding to the new Amarna Interlude roleplay in the group KMT. Enjoy, oh ye of the shimmering and sunny summer sands...

-------

Welcome to AkhetAten, Horizon of the Sun-Disc, capital of Egypt. AkhetAten is located in middle Egypt, at the half way point between Memphis and Thebes. For this part of her Nile cruise, the Golden Phoenix has moved forward in time. It is now the Amarna Interlude of Dynasty XVIII.

If you gaze port side, you will notice that the cliffs are formed in such a way as to appear like the Egyptian hieroglyph for akhet, which means horizon.

Look.. There is the border stela which reads...

"...the heiress, great in the palace, fair of face, adorned with the double plumes, mistress of happiness, endowed with favors, at hearing whose voice the King rejoices, the chief wife of the King, his beloved, the Lady of the Two Lands, Nefer-nefru-aten Nefertiti..."

Soon you shall be meet the young Prince Tutankhaten, successor of King Akhenaten, servant of the Aten.. He will take you out into the desert for a royal chariot ride. Then, the Prince shall escort you to see the King's chief wife, Queen Nefertiti.

It is said the Queen is the most beautiful woman in all the world. Even her name, Nefer-Nefru-Aten Nefertiti means, "beautiful is the beauty of Aten, perfect one of Aten's perfection, the beautiful woman has come!"

If you wish to meet the Queen, you must first hold an Egyptian Passport, and reserve yourself a chariot. The sun can become excessively strong here, so be sure to bring some sunblock.

While in AkhetAten, you also might want to read the Amarna letters. It is said that ever since the King destroyed Amen's statues, moved the capital from Thebes, and elevated the cult of the sun disc, there has been political unrest in Egypt.

Sun too hot for you? After your visit with the Queen, you might wish to attend the Wet T-unic Contest. Your friendly ancient Egyptian travel agency has imported more than enough water to insure a splashing good time. To be a contestant, simply sign the roster. If you prefer to judge, you must first sign in at the Judges' Chambers.

Enjoy your stay in sunny AkhetAten, Horizon of the Sun-disc.

Group Home Page, off-site Arcade and (those steenkin') Badges Posted at 13:00 EST

We came, we joined, we vanished. AmenJot didn't even mind all the experimentation with his nice, shiny new group coding... even when he fell into the "slave pit" with everyone else! At first it was not a pretty picture, but after a few nights up all night, it was looking and sounding decent.

The Egypt Gold Launch Festival

On October 14, 2002, Egypt opened her Gold Launch Group.

The next thing on the agenda was to give 'em all something to do while the cities were built. Thus, after a few days of maniacal coding, the Arcade was born.

~*Arcade Aegyptus*~

After you click the links, scroll down to view the games and try your luck. There are challenges for every skill level.

Name That Netjer

matching (medium) | concentration (challenging) | word search (easy)

Royal Roundup(easy)

City Slicker(easy-moderate)

The Daily Dig (moderate)

Time Twister (challenging)

On October 20, 2002, the steenkin' badges (no not the Badgers) were ready. Members required them in order to safely travel Ancient Egypt, so I called 'em Passports.
